Abstract

This dynamic and reproducible tutorial is part of a broader research initiative on utilizing Generalized Estimating Equation (GEE) in crossover studies within the context of randomized clinical trials related to physiotherapy and rehabilitation (Georgeto & Rogers, 2024a, 2024b; Rogers & Georgeto, 2024). The primary goal is to provide a comprehensive application tutorial in the R environment, demonstrating best practices for analyzing crossover designs using GEE.

This project adopts open science principles and reproducible research practices as outlined by Limongi & Rogers (2025a), Limongi & Rogers (2025b), and Rogers & Limongi (2025), ensuring transparency, accessibility, and replicability of all analyses and results. The tutorial integrates theoretical foundations with practical implementation, offering researchers and practitioners a hands-on guide for conducting rigorous statistical analyses in crossover clinical trials.
